About The Project
The goal was to redesign landing page and product interfaces that offer effortless navigation and task completion, all within a sleek, minimalistic digital space. It's a 'less-is-more' approach, where functionality takes centre stage, ensuring the things get done with ease.
THE START OF THE DESIGN PROCESS
Identifying Problems and Finding Solutions
The original website presented information in a scattered layout, making it challenging for users to quickly grasp its purpose. In redesigning the landing page, we prioritized a logical structure with a clear hierarchy, enhancing readability and streamlining navigation for a seamless user experience. Additionally, given the diverse audience, we focused on a neutral visual design, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity across a wide demographic spectrum.
Building a detailed flow before creating visual layouts helps to clarify the flow, section order, and information.
Presented several wireframe ideas and layouts to find the best suitable for the project. We avoid unnecessary information to prevent distractions, focusing instead on helping users make decisions and proceed. Less is more.
The other crucial aspect of the project was the existing colour pallet. The bold and bright turquoise with white font didn't pass the contrast test for accessibility. While the selection was daring and unique, it posed challenges in achieving visual harmony and text accessibility. I had to carefully balance the CEO's vision with UI principles for a better experience. We chose a calming green and white colour palette to inspire trust and professionalism, ensuring that the interface aligned with the needs of a clinical environment.
Roboto is neutral, clean, and highly functional, while Ubuntu has more warmth and character. This contrast makes them a great pair. Roboto can be beautifully used for the body text, buttons, and input fields and Ubuntu can be used for headings, labels, or key highlights to add a touch of personality and emphasis.
Both fonts are designed for optimal legibility on screens, so they work together in UI contexts where clear communication is key.
The landing page and the product are multilingual, right now available in four languages with plans to expand in future. When designing the navigation bar, we made sure it was easy to add a new language.
In collaboration with doctors, we created a web-based application, where doctors can store, and update patient history, write diagnostic reports, and manage invoices and appointments.
After the first round of testing with doctors, we found that the Diagnostic Report feature was not intuitive. We revised the design by adding clearer icons, reducing the steps to fill the report and change patient information, and implementing a layout where the doctor can view the previous report and write a new one.
Exado Web App
The second part of the project involved redesigning the product interfaces for a web app used by doctors and their patients to create and manage appointments, invoicing, and scheduling.
Design a layout from the patient's perspective, allowing them to search for doctors and book appointments directly through the platform. The appointment log displays a two-week overview, with a line indicating the change in months within a week.
